It's Not a Trick, Just a Yummy ESC! Halloween Treat
Blogging and Podcasting is supposed to be about reality. The unvarnished truth. So in the interest of fairness and "truth in blogging" I feel the need to point out that, though this entry is dated October 31st, I didn't actually get around to posting it until November 9th. So there it is. Please don't hold it against this poor procrastinating soul....
It's a Happy Halloween in ESC! Headquarters tonight! As little ghosts, goblins and Napolean Dynamites sporting "Vote For Pedro" shirts came calling, I was able to put the final touches on the newest edition of ESC! Magazine and push it out the door with only a few hours to spare! For, you see, the Fall issue is due in October. This being the 31st and all I was running just a tad late.
Knowing I would be out of town for two weeks during the month of October, I had grand plans back inAugust July to get most of the magazine laid out and ready for proofing over 8 weeks before it was to be released. Then, even if I was on the road, I'd be able to upload it to the servers in time for the release date. Funny thing about mixing a procrastinator with time is that time, as I understand it, does not stand still. This little nugget of truth was hard to escape as August became September which soon became October and I found myself behind the wheel of the family car for a 4300 mile round trip to California with little to no major progress made on the magazine itself.
On the other hand, I've always been proud of my ability to work well under time constraints (the aforementioned inability to manage my time effectively aside). Fortunately, my scrambling skills are still intact and I was able to get the project done and still fall within my "expected release date" of mid to late October. As anyone can well see, I don't like to saddle myself with the responsibility of actually naming a real date upon which it would come out. Just a mid-late October will do nicely thankyouverymuch.
So it's here. And it's a good one folks! For all the gooey details, be sure to bop over to http://www.escmagazine.com/escmagV9N2.asp and download your copy today.
